Full-Time Didactic Nursing Faculty (Assistant/Associate)

Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences at 香蜜影视 invites applications for a Full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing beginning in January 2025.
This is a 12-month, full-time faculty position in the Graduate Nurse Program for the School of Nursing in the Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences. This position is responsible for teaching, scholarship, and service to meet the didactic, research and/or clinical needs of the MSN and DNP Nursing tracks. Teaching responsibilities include content within the discipline or discipline areas in which the faculty has specific education, training, certification and/or contemporary expertise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
In collaboration with Nursing administration, faculty, staff, the successful candidate will:
- Maintain a teaching and advising load in an area of expertise as appropriate to the professional鈥檚 areas of content expertise.
- Ensure quality student-centered learning experiences during the program.
- Be responsible for teaching, advising, and evaluating students on a full-time basis
- Evaluate overall student performance.
- Ensure that the educational environment demonstrates characteristics of current and future expectations and professional behavior, while remaining current on trends and policy related to graduate nursing.
- Maintain compliance with accreditation standards.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the Director of Graduate Nursing Programs to teach a course load appropriate to the discipline and/or specialty area.
- Collaborates with the Faculty and Director to maximize student learning objectives.
- Assists in establishing criteria for admissions, curriculum content, and performance criteria for the students.
- Modify, as needed, instructional approaches to address student diversity.
- Learn and use technology to enhance teaching and the educational experience. i.e. the internet, Institutional learning system (Canvas), distance coursework (telemedicine /video conferencing as needed), and other interactive technology, as appropriate.
- Encourage and facilitate the development of communication skills and higher order reasoning and thinking skills through appropriate assignments.
- Contribute to the selection and development of instructional materials in accordance with course objectives and the curricular design.
- Incorporate specific accreditation criteria into coursework syllabi and content.
- Develop, update, and post course syllabi in a timely manner in accordance with program policies.
- Serve as a mentor and advisor for student graduate nursing scholarly projects as assigned.
- Participates with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty (NONPF) and other organizations to ensure program excellence and appropriateness of the curriculum and instruction to advance nurse practitioner education.
- Serves on university, college, and program committees, representing Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences and the School of Nursing.
- Participates in admissions, marketing, fund-raising, and other functions that support the nursing programs.听
- Collaborates with the Director of Graduate Nursing on student recruitment, selection, evaluation, advisement, and retention.
- Ensures quality of the program.
- Fosters an academic climate that facilitates student, faculty and staff learning as well as professional growth.
- Directs effort and attention to teaching and learning processes used throughout the curriculum. Promotes student-centered pedagogies and excellence in student advising.
- Develop and explain methods that objectively and equitably measure student progress toward student learning outcomes and specific course objectives.
- Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and provide feedback on student work in a timely manner to promote maximum learning.
- Identify students at risk for not meeting performance criteria to assist student with engagement in appropriate resources for success.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation/records of student progress and submit final grade rosters to Program Director/Administrative staff each semester according to established deadlines.
- Participates in the academic and clinical advising of students as assigned by the Director of Graduate Nursing Programs.
- Post and maintain office hours to ensure accessibility for advisement and consultation.
- Participate in graduation ceremonies, on-campus learning intensives, and other program related events as assigned, including those scheduled for evenings and weekends.
- Attend to responsibilities associated with teaching, scholarship, and service.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information (i.e., FERPA, HIPAA, etc.)
- Maintain active clinical practice as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
- Assist Director of Clinical Education with clinical site visits as necessary.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate is required to have:
- An earned Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing, or a Doctor of Nursing Science (DNS) and be a Certified Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or another Advanced Nursing Practice Area
- At least 5 years of clinical practice experience
- At least 3 years of teaching in post-professional graduate nursing programs
- Commitment to learner-centered education, innovative educational models, and readiness to participate in interprofessional educational opportunities.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:
- Experience with or understanding of online/distance mediated educational learning and teaching, including use of learning technologies.
- Experience with simulation technology and curriculum development for simulation experiences.
- Demonstrated expertise in various Learning Management Systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency with Apple IOS products.
