Instructor of Psychology

Mary Baldwin University is seeking a full-time, fixed-term contract (one-year renewable) instructor of psychology with a specialty in either developmental psychology or biopsychology.  For those with a specialty in developmental psychology, teaching responsibilities would include both child psychology, adolescent psychology, and educational psychology.  For those with a specialty in biopsychology, teaching responsibility would include sensation and perception, drugs and behavior, and behavioral neuroscience.  Regardless of specialty, successful candidates should be willing to teach introductory level psychology courses and statistics courses, as well as teach to the new general education curriculum currently in development.  

The successful candidate will have research interests well-suited to an undergraduate liberal arts college and enthusiasm for mentoring undergraduate thesis projects. Primary responsibilities include teaching seven courses per academic year (some online teaching will be required), service to the university, and continued professional scholarship. Mary Baldwin seeks candidates who are interested in teaching for a diverse student body, and who embrace the ethic of diversity, equity, and inclusion.  Qualifications: Ph.D. preferred, ABD considered.
