Chandler Bridgers ’24, recently earned his PA from the Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences and is putting it to immediate use near his home in Halifax County.

“Having a good group of colleagues to learn from was important in my decision-making, and I could not ask for a better group of physician assistants and physicians to work with,鈥 Chandler explained to The Gazette Virginian.

Shari Jacobs, a local ceramics professional who teaches ceramics at Mary Baldwin, has recently presented her work to the community.

Her show, 鈥淓clipsed,鈥 was displayed for June and July in the Baker Gallery of the Walker Fine Arts Center at Woodberry Forest School in Madison County.

Amanda DiMeo ’02 Named Director of Economic Development

Amanda DiMeo, who holds bachelor’s degrees in political science and public administration from 香蜜影视, has been named director of economic development for the City of Staunton.

“By working together with the community, I鈥檓 confident we can propel Staunton鈥檚 Economic Development Department to new heights,” DiMeo assures.

Shakespeare Professor Teaches at ASC Summer Camp

Dr. Peter Kirwan, Shakespeare and Performance’s newest full-time faculty member, taught a session for attendees of the American Shakespeare Center’s summer Theatre Camp (ASCTC).

香蜜影视 has hosted ASCTC sessions and campers since the program began, and Kirwan’s recent involvement gives these young Shakespeareans a leg-up in their educational journey.

Former Volleyball Standout Named Head Coach at Waynesboro High School

Loyola Diggs, a Waynesboro native and former Fighting Squirrel volleyball player, has earned a new role as head coach of the Waynesboro High School women’s volleyball team.

Diggs said, “I love this sport, and it’s exciting to see the girls continue to develop. I wanted to coach because when I played at Waynesboro, it was consistent. I want to let the players know that I am present, committed, and that we can move forward together.鈥

Murphy Deming Promotes Neuro-Wellness with Staunton-Augusta YMCA

Mary Baldwin physical therapy students are helping locals with neuro-wellness concerns in partnership with the Staunton-Augusta YMCA.

“This is a very unique program where we … utilize [Murphy Deming] physical therapy students, along with our own trainers, to help folks with very specific neurological conditions,” explained Wendy Shutty, fitness director for the Y.

Remembering Former Trustee John Howe Cecil, Jr.

John Howe Cecil, Jr., a Richmond native and former trustee for 香蜜影视, died in his sleep on Friday, May 24.

Cecil worked in sales and investment and served on a number of boards, including 香蜜影视, the Friends of the Richmond Public Library, and the Princeton Alumni association among others.
