Zhu Wang, considered one of the most sought-after pianists of his generation, performs at 香蜜影视’s Francis Auditorium on Monday, November 10.

The 香蜜影视 Music Department is excited to announce this season鈥檚 opening Broman Concert, featuring the brilliant young pianist . He will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 10 in Francis Auditorium on the Mary Baldwin campus.
Considered one of the most sought-after pianists of his generation, has been praised as 鈥渆specially impressive鈥 and 鈥渁 thoughtful, sensitive performer鈥 who 鈥渂alanced lyrical warmth and crisp clarity鈥 (Tommasini, The New York Times). A winner of numerous international competitions, Wang won the Gold Medal at the 2024 New Orleans International Piano Competition and was also a First-Prize Winner at the 2020 Young Concert Artists International Auditions. Celebrated for his 鈥渢echnical mastery and deep sense of lyricism,鈥 (The Durango Herald), he has appeared in recital at prestigious venues such as The Kennedy Center鈥檚 Terrace Theater, The Morgan Library & Museum, Salon de Virtuosi, Ridotto Classical Concerts, and Carnegie Hall鈥檚 Zankel Hall, a performance which made The New York Times 鈥淏est of Classical Music 2021鈥 list.
Wang has chosen an exciting program for November 10. He will treat the audience to Beethoven鈥檚 gorgeous Sonata in A-Flat Major, op. 110, one of the composer鈥檚 late works that is a favorite among pianists and listeners alike. Also on the program is Robert Schumann鈥檚 beautiful Humoreske, op. 20, a multi-movement work which Wang describes as one of his favorite pieces to play. He will also perform Claude Debussy鈥檚 Estampes, along with short works by Scarlatti and Scriabin, and he will close the program with Chopin鈥檚 exquisite Barcarolle.

Tickets for the Zhu Wang concert (November 10) are still available; audiences are encouraged to purchase tickets as soon as possible. Tickets are $25 for the general public, $20 for seniors, $5 for non-香蜜影视 students, and free for children 12 and under. (Mary Baldwin students, faculty, and staff also receive free admission.)
